Liquid Amber was awarded the 2011 Amsterdam Video Festival Van Gogh Award for Best Environmental Film. I shot, edited, and composed the music for this work.

Fountain (one day installation), Garden of Memory Walk-Through Event #14, New Music Bay Area Chapel of Chimes, Piedmont, CA, June 2011. Arctic Winds, Liquid Amber, Glassy Metals, Survival Music were presented at the University of California at Santa Barbara, CA, May 2011.




Solar Wind, Ahh-Ahh and Resonant Places used for Regions, choreographed and performed by Molissa Fenley at the Joyce Soho in New York City, NY on 11/4 - 11/7/10.  Liquid Amber screened at Ear to the Earth for Electronic Music Foundation on 10/28 - 11/1/10.  Liquid Amber screened, Cinesonika, SIAT-SFU (School of Interactive Arts + Technology and Simon Fraser University on 11/12 - 11/21/10.  Arctic Winds diffused, Nuit Blanche, Festival Futura 2010, Crest, France on 8/29/10.  Liquid Amber screened, Intermedia Festival, Music and Arts Technology at IUPUI (Informatics and Communications Technology Complex at Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis), IN on 4/23-4/25/10.


Arctic Winds CD (seven electroacoustic works: Fluid Dynamics, Distant Thunder, Apparent Horizon, Arctic Winds, System Test (fire and ice), Glassy Metals, and FIZZ) released on Innova label (10/2010).



The composer writes, “Liquid Amber received an Honorary Mention in the 35th International Contests of Music and Sound Art Electroacoustics of Bourges in the works for multimedia category. I also had a five-week residency at the Montalvo Arts Center in Saragota, CA, in mid-December 2007 through mid-January 2008.”


Raw Data was presented at the Sonic Residues Festival, Stony Brook University, NY April 29-May 12, 2008. Liquid Amber and Arctic Ice were heard October 2-12 at PIXILERATIONS [v.5]: Fragments & (W)holes, Providence, RI. Fountain was included in the 20th Century Forum of the Garden of Memory Walk-Through Event #11, Chapel of Chimes, Piedmont, CA. Arctic Winds was heard as part of the Inclusive Voices Healing the Divide: International Women’s Electroacoustic Listening Room Project, 7th Annual Women in New Music Festival, Cal State Fullerton.


60X3 appears on the 2006-07 60X60 double CD Compilation; Vox Novus.




Arctic Winds was introduced October 21, 2007, at Mills College in a concert featuring Center for Contemporary Music (CCM) and California Institute for the Arts (CalArts) Composers, San Francisco, CA.


Works performed throughout 2007 include System Test (fire and ice) at CalArts, Redcat, Los Angeles, CA; Fizz at Festival International d’art acousmatique, “Nuit Blanche,” Paris; Desertscapes: “Painted Pictures,” Vox Musica vocal ensemble directed by Daniel Paulson, Sacramento, CA; Motor Rhythms, Electro Acoustic Revue (EAR), Project Arts Centre, Dublin, Ireland; and Distant Thunder:  Free Play Six: Listening Chamber, electro-acoustic music from around the world, Grand Valley State University, Allendale, MI.


System Test (fire and Ice), 2007 Computer Music Journal DVD, ‘Far and Wide.’ 60 Fizz on 60X60 double CD compilation (2004-2006), Vox Novus label. Contributor to The Dielectric Field Recording All-Stars CD, Dielectric Records.
