SAI Patroness Annetta Hamilton Rosser reports that at age 92 she feels blessed, except for being very deaf, which means she has had to give up singing in church choir and symphony chorus, playing her violin, and composing. When friends comment that Beethoven was deaf, she can only respond that she is not Beethoven! She continues to subscribe to the season of concerts in Madison’s wonderful new Overture Center and supports the Madison (WI) Symphony and Opera and other arts groups.

Performances

Herrick’s Carol and Song of the Virgin Mother were performed December 21, 2004, for Euterpe Club by soprano Therese Bauer with violinist LaVonne Senn and pianist Margaret Smith, Covenant Presbyterian Church, Madison, WI. Marlys Mittelstadt, SAI member and organist at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Madison, presented Holy Innocents on January 2, 2005. Mittelstadt also performed Alleluia, Sing and Rejoice as a postlude for several services in the winter and spring of 2005.
