Bright Morning Stars Are Rising was performed by the Coventry Blue Coat Choir, which was selected as the Choir of the Year on the BBC-TV series Songs of Praise. The Choir’s performance of the piece was later broadcast on BBC-TV.
PREMIERES
Let Us Worship was introduced in May 2009 by the choir of the Unitarian-Universalist Church of Canton, NY. The Orchestra of Northern New York gave the first performance of Fantasia Oscurata in July, while a new version of Memoriale, arranged for clarinet and harp, was premiered in August by Marianne Gythfeldt and Nuiko Wadden.
PERFORMANCES
Lingua Corporea (Body Languge) was presented in January 2009 by soprano Jill Pearon and violist Shelly Tramposh at SUNY-Potsdam, and in May by soprano Stephanie Henkle and violist Deborah Price at Denison University. Everyone Suddenly Burst Out Singing was given a performance in March by the Cayuga Vocal Ensemble, Ithaca, NY, while the Penn State Saxophone Ensemble performed Antiphochrome in April. Excerpts from the opera The Sailor-Boy and the Falcon were performed in May by the San Francisco (CA) Cabaret Opera.
