NEWS

Composed a choral work commissioned by the Pasadena Alumnae Chapter for the SAI chapter at Fullerton State University, Evening Solace, SSA and piano or harp, poem by Charlotte Bronte. Completed an opera, The Happy Hypocrite, based on a story by Max Beerbohm, libretto by Hugh Hayes Funk.

PREMIERES

Love, SATB and piano or harp, text by George Meredith and the King James Bible translation of Psalm 23, Lancaster Bible College Chorale and Orchestra, conducted by Robert Bigley, April 28 and 30, 2012.

PERFORMANCES

Concerto for Flute and Orchestra, Merrie Siegel, soloist, Northwest Symphony Orchestra, Anthony Spain, conductor, March 17, 2012.
 


 

2012

PREMIERES

Love, SATB and harp or piano, text by George Meridith, and 23rd Psalm, Robert Bigley, conductor, Lebanon Bible College Choir, Lebanon, PA. Fall 2011, premiere and tour.

PERFORMANCES

Concerto for Flute, Merrie Siegel, flute, Anthony Spain, conducor, Northwest Symphony Orchestra, March 2012, Seattle, WA.

 


 

2011

PREMIERES

The Legend of Poker Alice, opera, libretto by Willy Clark, by Campus Theater of Shoreline Community College (WA), directed by Susan Dolacky, Charles Enlow and Andrew Seifert, orchestra conducted by Teresa Metzger Howe on 2/18 – 2/20/10.  Yuki Guni (Snow Country) for koto and orchestra by Shiho Kurauchi, soloist with the Northwest Symphony Orchestra conducted by Anthony Spain at the Highline Performing Arts Center on 4/23/10.

PERFORMANCES

Unto Thee, O Lord by Christ Church Choir, Linda Donaldson, soprano, directed by Nancy Kern at A Musical Offering in Seattle, WA on 5/21/10.

PUBLICATIONS

Psalm 150 and Let Us Celebrate, both SATB with two trumpets, timpani and piano, by Ars Nova Press.


 

2010
NEWS

Winter Play, for SSAA choir, for which the composer also wrote the words, was introduced in March at the 2009 Pennsylvania State Homeschool Music Festival, Lancaster (PA) Bible College. The work was performed by the Girl’s Honor Choir under the direction of Robert Bigley.

PERFORMANCES

Yuki No Niigata will be presented April 23 in a performance by the Northwest Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Anthony Spain, Highline (WA) Performing Arts Center.

 2009

PERFORMANCES

Scenes one and two from The Legend of Poker Alice, an opera with libretto by Willy Clark, were performed February 28-29 and March 1, 2008, by the Opera Workshop at Shoreline Community College, directed by Susan Dolacky and Charles Enlow; scenes one and four were performed March 14 at the University of Washington Opera Workshop, directed by Claudia Zahn. Transcending was presented by pianist Mo Kaye Swanson at a June 28 House Concert in Pt. Ludlow, WA.
