Dr. Robert Boury
Biography and recent performances

2002 - Composition student Philip Gordon won
the Beyer Award for Music Composition ($4000) and performed
his songs at the National Convention of the National Federation
of Music Clubs.

East Coast premiere of Boury's comic opera
Bowl, Cat and Broomstick at West Park Presbyterian
Church in Manhattan, performed by the New York Metro Vocal
Ensemble.

2001 - Premiere of Boury's Folk Symphony
for string orchestra at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Manhattan,
by the Antara Ensemble. The composer's Poem for flute
and piano and the song group, American Names were performed
at the Nixon Library in Yorba Linda, California.

2000 - Premieres and performances by the Boston
recorder ensemble Windsong, The International Poetry
Forum, the University of Colorado, the Music at the Mansion
series, Oglebay Park, West Virginia - by the Conway String Orchestra
(High School), and at New Mexico State University.

1999 - The art song group, American Names
was performed at Redlands University, and at the Roerich Museum
in New York.

1995 - Visiting artist in songwriting to Public
Schools K-6. The composer teaches the core curriculum through
songwriting and a different continent each year.
