She is the recipient of 34 consecutive honorary ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) awards for her many publications and performances in the field of sacred music. Her B.A. and Public School Music Education Certificate were earned at Hillsdale College where she attended on a four-year music scholarship. She did her graduate study at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan where she decided to follow her dream to become a published composer. Sharon is listed in several "Composer's Directories", including ASCAP's "Biographical Directory" and is featured regularly as a distinguished composer in "Pan Pipes", the magazine of the Honorary Music Fraternity, Sigma Alpha Iota. She was appointed to be the Florida State Chairman of Young Adults Composer's Awards by the NFMC, a position she held for several years. In earlier years, Sharon's publications were mainly in choral octavos and organ collections but began writing Handbell and Handchime music in 1993 when she was awarded the first prize as winner of the American Guild of English Handbell Ringers original Handbell Composition Contest with her unique piece, "Raz-A-Ma-Taz". In the past five years she has had over 100 Handbell pieces published and many under contract, several of those being commissioned, along with many new choral and organ publications. Sharon resides in Venice, Florida with her husband, Walter, a former Ford Motor Co. supervisor. Her married daughter, Janet is a prominent Minister of Music, Organist, Accompanist, Choral and Handbell Director.

Sharon is currently working on a new commissioned organ collection, written primarily for beginning organists and several other choral and Handbell works. Her latest major publication is a complete setting of the "New Holy Eucharist" an easy but interesting Holy Communion Service commissioned by several Episcopal churches in the Michigan Diocese which will be in print in the fall of 1998.
