Project Seed Grants for Alumnae Chapters

Sigma Alpha Iota Philanthropies, Inc. is offering four grants annually of up to $2500 each to alumnae chapters to initiate work on a major project in music that is expected to continue beyond the period of the initial grant (i.e., one year) and become self-sustaining. Grant funds may not be used for scholarships or tuition. The funded project must be executed as proposed.

  • The applying SAI chapter must be in “good financial standing” with the fraternity
  • Selection will be made on the following basis:
  • Potential impact of the project beyond the local level
  • Evidence of potential sustainability of the project in the long term
  • Expressed commitment of the chapter in terms of monetary and “people” resources
  • Quality of overall proposal in terms of clarity, evidence of good planning, and project ideas and goals
  • Reasonableness/justification of the proposed budget

The application packet plus four (4) copies are to be sent to SAI National Headquarters.

  • Awarded 2005
    • Decatur Alumnae Chapter $2500 for "Orchestra and Band Instruments for the Needy" at Hope Academy in Decatur, IL.
