Alice A. Moerk
Alice A. Moerk** lives in Fairmont,
WV, where she is Professor of Music at Fairmont State
Coll. (FSC).
Premieres
In Lunel, France, Ensemble Decente presented
Peculiarities, for violin and guitar. Works scheduled
to be heard first at FSC were CiunLionis, a portrait
for piano and orchestra, featuring Jeriel Gilman; Byrdwatch,
for violin (fiddle) and guitar (dulcimer), with violinist
Kathy Feathea, at the FSC Foundation Awards Ceremony;
and The Wise Woman, an opera in three scenes
(libretto by George F. Byers), Apr. 2000. At an SAI
Composer Showcase, Apr. 1999 at FSC, Cantata -- Dialogue
between Ancients and Moderns, for SATB soli and
instruments, premiered.
Performances
Kirk Weller directed the FSC concert
band in Harbour Symphony.
