Reed lives in Green Valley, AZ. On Apr. 3-6, 1999, he
was guest composer at Montana State Univ., in Missoula.
Performances
Works performed during his residency
at Montana State Univ. were The Heart of the Morn,
with the university Symphony Wind Ensemble, under Steve
Bolstad; La Negra and El Muchacho, both
for piano; Scherzo, for clarinet and piano; and
Wondrous Love, for tenor and woodwind quintet.
Heard Mar. 4, 1998 with the San Marcus (TX) State Univ.
Wind Ensemble, La Fiesta Mexicana is scheduled
by the Tucson Symphony Orchestra, conducted by George
Wilson, Mar. 24-26, 2000. An all-Reed program at Michigan
State Univ., in East Lansing, featured the school's
Alumni Band, David L. Catron and Kenneth G. Bloomquist
conducting, in Spiritual and Missouri Shindig;
and the Wind Symphony, led by John L. Whitwell, in For
the Unfortunate, Apr. 15-18, 1999. For the Unfortunate
also was played by the Grand Ledge (MI) Wind Symphony,
directed by Michael Kaufman, May 13-16, 1998.
