Annual American Composers Update

Meyer Kupferman

Meyer Kupferman lives and composes mostly in Rhinebeck, NY. In Nov. 1999 in Prague, the Czech National Symphony, under the direction of Paul Freem, was scheduled to record Lunar Symphony and Tinker Hill.

Premieres

Conducted by Glen Cortese, the Manhattan Guitar Quartet and the Manhattan Sinfonietta gave the first performance of Concerto for Four Guitars and Orchestra, Mar. 1999 in New York, NY. The Orquesta de Baja California, under Roberto Limon, premiered Music for Guitar and Orchestra, Oct. 1999 in Tijuana, Mexico.

Performances

In Apr. 1999, the Bronx Arts Ensemble presented Among the Windy Places. O North Star, for flute, clarinet, and piano, was heard with the Utah Chamber Players, Mar. 1999 in Park City. Another work played recently was Four Constellations, for flute and clarinet.
