Annual American Composers Update
Marvin Lamb
Marvin Lamb, Professor of Music and Dean of the University
of Oklahoma College of Fine Arts, in Norman, also has
served as 1999 Composer in Residence at the Oklahoma Summer
Arts Institute, and as Guest Lecturer with the Oklahoma
City Philharmonic, speaking about "Y2K of the Soul, Mahler's
Symphony No. 5."
Performances
The Eagle has Landed has been heard with the Colorado
Symphony, Marin Alsop conducting, in Denver, and with
the Tampa Bay (FL) Youth Orchestra, led by James Palmer.
At the OSAI Summer Festival, held in Norman, OK, works
performed included
Overture for Orchestra, with
the Festival Orchestra, under John Dodson; and
Prism,
for trombone, piano, and percussion. The Oklahoma Brass
Quintet played
Prairie Suite in Norman.
