David Stock
SAI National Arts Associate David Stock lives in Pittsburgh,
PA, where he is Professor of Composition at Duquesne University.
He retired from conducting the Pittsburgh New Music Ensemble
on July 1, 1999, after 23 seasons.
Premieres
At the Western Slope Music Festival, Imre Pallo conducted
the first performance of
Yizkor, for string orchestra,
June 1999 in Creston Butte, CO. Stock led the Pittsburgh
New Music Ensemble in the premiere of
Past Tense,
Apr. 1999. The Pittsburgh Civic Symphony, under Bruce
Lauffer, presented
Knockout, May 1999. Heard first
at Weill Recital Hall, in New York, NY, was
Refuge,
with cellist Rajan Krishnaswami and pianist Mark Salmon,
Sept. 1999. Under the baton of Robin Fountain, the Williamsport
Symphony introduced Stock's
Symphony No. 3, "Tikkun
Olam", Oct. 30, 1999.
