John W. Pozdro
John W. Pozdro has listings in Who's
Who in America, 43rd and 44th editions; Baker's
Biographical Dictionary of Musicians, 9th edition;
and Baker's Biographical Dictionary of 20th Century
Classical Musicians. He received a 1999-2000 Serious
Music Category award from ASCAP. Currently, he has a
commission for A Summer's Night from John Gouwens,
carillonneur, for Culver (IN) Academy. His seventh piano
sonata is in progress.
Performances
Ballade-fantasy was played by
David Wehr at the NFMC convention, in St. Louis, May
8, 1999. At the International Carillon Festival, in
Springfield, IL, Elizabeth Berghout presented Winds
of Autumn, June 8, 2000. At Culver Academy, Gouwens
performed Triptych, July 4, 1999 and Apr. 9,
2000, and Variations on a Slavonic Theme, Feb.
6, 2000. Landscape was heard at Bok Tower, in
Lake Wales, FL, with Helen Hawley, June 25, 2000. Triptych
was part of BUMA, in Holland, Nov. 23, 1999.
