Annual American Composers Update
K Marie Stolba
"During the academic year 1999-2000,
I had several one-week residencies at various colleges
and universities at which I not only taught but also
presented public lectures that included slides and recorded
music. The evening of Apr. 15, 2000, I met Theo Faberge,
of the noted jewelry firm, in Denver, CO, and talked
with him about the latest Eggs and other jewelry items
created by his firm, and about his grandfather, Peter
Carl Faberge. On Apr. 18, 2000, I presented a public
lecture, with video, at North Highlands Presbyterian
Church, Fort Wayne, IN, on Peter Carl Faberge, Jeweler
to the Tsars." K Marie Stolba**'s residencies were at
Colorado Christian University (Oct. 1999 and Apr. 2000),
Monmouth (IL) College (Mar. 2000), and Indiana-Purdue
University, Fort Wayne (Apr. 2000). In Mar. 2000, she
was one of eight "nationally-known" lecturers in a Lenten
Series of Concerts, Art Exhibits, and Lectures, at First
Presbyterian Church, Fort Wayne, IN. In 2000, she presented
papers at the College Music Society Rocky Mountain Chapter
conference, in Fort Collins, CO (Apr.); at the SAI Convention
in Dallas, TX (Aug.); and at the International Conference
on Organology, in St. Petersburg, Russia (Dec. 2000).
She is preparing a book on SAI's history for the fraternity's
centennial.
