Annual American Composers Update

Robert Stern has been granted an ASCAP Award.

Works heard at the University of Massachusetts included Ultima Fantasia, with the school's Wind Ensemble, Malcolm Rowell, conductor, Nov. 1999; and A Rushing of New Waters, with the Women's Choir, directed by Rebekah Lockwood, May 2000. In Dec. 1999, Paulina Stark sang Al Tifg'i Vi, with Stern at the piano, in New York, NY; and Two Hebrew Songs, with pianist Ludmila Savenkova, in Northfield, MA. Stark also performed Two Hebrew Songs, accompanied by Virginia Eskin. at the Florida Atlantic University Boca Raton and Jupiter campuses in Jan. 2000.
