Premieres
On Apr 2, 2000, at the Urban Institute for Contemporary
Arts, in Michigan, a Works of Will Gay Bottje program
introduced
Short Excursion, for large jazz ensemble,
with the Grand Valley State University Large Jazz Ensemble;
and
Divertimento, for flute, clarinet, violin,
viola, and cello, with Jill Brown, Bruce Curlette, Christopher
Martin, Steven Brook, and Alicia Stegink. The New Symphony
Orchestra, under the baton of Rossen Milinov, introduced
Opener, Concerto for Horn and Orchestra, and
Capriccio
for Two Trumpets, Strings, and Percussion, Dec. 18,
2000 in Sofia, Bulgaria.
String Quartet No. 5 will
have its first performance Mar. 15, 2001, with the Perugino
Quartet at Grand Valley State University.
