Annual American Composers Update

Bruce P. Mahin

Bruce P. Mahin is preparing for the 2003 release of his fourth CD, which also will be available in DVD format, including Ghost in the Machine, for clarinet and cello; Skye Lines, for clarinet, piano, and percussion; Galileo, for electronic wind instrument and interactive computer; and The Trapeze Artist, for orchestra. He has played his music for electronic wind instrument and interactive computer throughout the United States and in Scotland and is seeking more performance opportunities.


Performances

In February 2001, Mahin performed Galileo, Time Chants I, Los Angeles April-May, 1992, For Every Season, and Synapse at Washington and Lee University, in Virginia. Works heard in 2001 at Radford (VA) University included Ghost in the Machine, with Sandra Mosteller (March); and Shadows, for soprano, piano, and percussion, with Radford University students (December). The composer presented Galileo with video projections at the University of Alabama, April 2001.
