Premieres
On March 16, 2001, The Palaces of Memory,
by Diane Thome, for chamber orchestra and tape, was
introduced by the Olympia (WA) Chamber Orchestra,
Arun Chandra, Music Director and Conductor. Through
Amber, commissioned for clarinet and computer-realized
sound, was premiered by clarinetist Karl Herman as
part of the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra Chamber
Series, March 18, 2001, in Newark.
Performances
In 2000, Bright Air/Brilliant Fire, for flute
and computer-realized sound, was heard at the College
Music Society National Convention, in Toronto, with
Katherine Kemler, flute and alto flute, November 4;
and on the Washington Square Contemporary Music Series,
in Merkin Hall, New York, NY, with Jayn Rosenfeld,
flute and alto flute, December 12. Dorothy Shapiro
and the Northwest Symphony Orchestra gave a performance
of Like a Seated Swan, for viola and computer-realized
sound, November 18, 2000, in Seattle, WA. On April
29, 2001, Ann Cummings played Ringing, Stillness,
Pearl Light, for piano and tape, at the Vancouver
(BC) East Cultural Center.
