Premieres
Pianist Lawrence Blind premiered Going Forth
At Dawn With Power (written for Blind on the
occasion of the birth of his son, Wesley) November
10, 2000, on a benefit concert for the Fine Arts
Center Theatre in Silver City, NM. On May 23, 2001,
pianist Ian Flora presented Ghosts, written
for Flora as a graduation present, at Robertson's
Recital Hall in Albuquerque.
Performances
The New Mexico Symphony Orchestra performed a portion
of Enchanted Land: Suite for Narrator and Orchestra
at the Barelas Community Center in Albuquerque,
March 25, 2000. Mauldin played Going Forth At
Dawn With Power on a piano lecture-recital,
"Romanticism - Old and New," at MacMurray
College in Illinois, January 18, 2001. At the Santuario
de Guadalupe in Santa Fe on February 11, 2001, the
Serenata of Santa Fe presented Mountain Winds:
Episodes for Flute, Oboe and Harp. In 2001,
Bernard Rubenstein conducted The San Juan Symphony
in High Places in Farmington, NM, February
24, and in Durango, CO, February 25. The California
All-State Orchestra, directed by Rubenstein, gave
a performance of Dawn at San Juan Mesa, March
10, 2001, in Ontario, CA.
