PremieresThree Holy Sonnets, for large SATB choir and orchestra, was introduced by the Ars Brunesis chorus, directed by Dan Kalousek, and the Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra, under Toshiyuki Shimada, in Olomouc, the Czech Republic, June 23, 2002. Heard first at Queens College were Duologue 6, for xylophone and timpani, with Chi-ching Lin and Brad Carbone, November 29 and December 6, 2001; and Duologue 7, for violin and piano, with Daniel Phillips and Morey Ritt, April 17, 2002. In 2002, pianist Genevieve Chinn premiered Ten Conceits in Boston, MA, April 7, followed by performances in Hartford, CT, April 13, and at Queens College, April 17. PerformancesThree Songs of Blake and Donne were performed by Jennifer Foster and Brings, in Weston, CT, April 21, 2002. Brings and Chinn played Passacaglia, Interlude and Fugue, for piano four-hands, in Farmington Hills, MI, December 1, 2001, and in Hartford, April 13, 2002. On February 28, 2002, Jonathan Weber, Kelly Dylla, and Joanne Lin presented Trio, for violin, viola and cello, at Queens College. Missa Brevis, for SATB a cappella choir, was sung by The Kent (CT) Singers, conducted by Marguerite Mullée, December 1, 2001. Duologue 3, for clarinet and piano, was heard with Angela Brenton and Jia Li, in Detroit, MI, November 11, 2001.
