Daniel Kingman

During the past year, Daniel Kingman was working on the fourth edition of his American Music:  A Panorama, for December 2002 publication by Schirmer Books.

Premieres

In 2002, the Jalina Trio toured California with the first performances of Scénario musical III, for piano trio, at Tifereth Israel Synagogue, in San Diego, March 14; at California State University (CSU), Stanislaus, March 16; and at CSU, Sacramento, March 18.  Three Goethe Songs, for soprano and piano, premiered with Claudia Kitka and Kirsten Smith, November 14, 2002, at the Festival of New American Music, held at CSU, Sacramento.

Performances

A CSU-Sacramento program included Scénario musical I, for viola, cello, and piano, with James Een, Lena Bonhorst-Andaya, and Richard Cionco, October 1, 2002.  In 2002, the Sun Quartet played String Quartet No. 3 in Berkeley, CA, October 8, and at CSU, Sacramento, October 18.
