James Drew

James Drew's Atelier has been joined by architect Craig Foster and filmmaker Michael Monteleone.  Conducted in Japan, Sweden, and the United States, their first project is to further advance experimental concepts dealing with outdoor performance possibilities, with combinations of moving and stationary sound spaces.  A project to record on CD, for the first time, a series of Drew early works is now underway, beginning with Gothic Lights, Almost Stationary, and Metal Concert.


Premieres

The outdoor version of Drew's geo-assemblage Geo - 02 premiered with the Carre Ensemble in Stockholm.


Performances

The Carre Ensemble also performed Moving Spaces in Stockholm.  In England, the West End Players presentedTalking Circle in London, and soprano Ellie Zoft sang Lute In The Attic in Warwick.  Petite Petersburg Play was heard at the University of Wisconsin, in Madison, with Mimmi Fulmer, soprano/actress, and Bertram Turetzky, bassist/actor/singer.  A performance of Almost Stationary took place in Tokyo with the Miza Trio.
