The 2003 American Composers Updateas published in PAN PIPES, Volume 95, Number 2 Kent KennanOn June 3, 2002, Kent Kennan was one of ten persons inducted into the first Austin Arts Hall of Fame, representing theater, radio, art, dance, music performance, and composition, with the honorees chosen by the Austin Critics Table. His Counterpoint textbook has been translated into Japanese and Greek. PerformancesOn October 10, 2001, Sonata for Trumpet and Wind Ensemble was played by Mark Hughes and the Emory (University) Wind Ensemble. One ASCAP report lists 18 performances of Sonata for Trumpet and Piano and 10 of Night Soliloquy; another lists performances of these works in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Finland, Great Britain, Hungary, and Japan.
