Margaret Shelton Meier

Margaret Shelton Meier's Peace I Leave With You received a rating of Top Winner in the "I Wage Peace" choral competition held by the University of Oregon last spring.


Premieres

Heard first in 2002 at Mt. San Antonio College, in Walnut, CA, were the piano version of Fountains Water the Garden, with Meier, February 9; and Night Thoughts, with cellist Maggie Parkins and the composer at the piano, October 5.


Performances

Also on the October 5 program was Sense and Nonsense, with Ralph Wells, baritone, and Meier, piano.  Organist Frances Nobert gave 2002 performances of Romantic Passacaglia, on a twelve-tone theme, at an AGO Los Angeles Chapter Concert at St. Cyril of Jerusalem Church in Encino, CA, January 21; on the Great Music at St. James Concert Series, at St. James Episcopal - Wilshire, in Los Angeles, CA, February 10; on the Just After Noon Music Series at the First Congregational Church in Long Beach, CA, June 7; at the AGO - Orange County's Music She Wrote:  Music of Women Composers program at Garden Grove (CA) United Methodist Church, October 6; and at a Pomona College Choir Concert, in Claremont, CA, November 22 and 24.
