Premieres

In Praise of Music (Franz von Schober, English trans. compiled by Jordan), for SATB and piano, was commissioned and premiered by the Des Moines (IA) Concert Singers at Westminster Presbyterian Church on May 4, 2003, with conductor John Kelly and pianist Bruce Martin. Celebration for Organ Duet (based on the hymn tunes "Judas Maccabeus" and "Sicilian Mariners") was commissioned by Dr. Marilyn Mason and premiered October 6 at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, with Dr. Mason and Robert A. Luther, organists. Mason and Luther performed the work again at Zion Lutheran Church, Anoka, MN on October 19, and organists Hatfield and Luther presented the piece at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Evansville, IN, November 2.

Performances

Away in a Manger, for men's voices and organ, was heard during December 2002 on the Christmas with the Camerata Holiday Tour Program, Washington D.C. Men's Camerata; Frank Albinder, director, Samuel Carabetta, organist. Three for Two, a suite for two pianos, was performed by duo pianists Robert Lien and Ray Songayllo, at Drake University, Des Moines, IA, February 9, 2003. Also on February 9, Jubilation on Lauda Anima was presented by organist Robert M. Speed at Grandview Lutheran Church, Des Moines, IA, on the Schantz Organ Anniversary Recital.
