Sketches for Grace was introduced February 8, 2003, by pianist Katherine Kim and a chamber orchestra under the direction of Gary Toops, Mount San Antonio College, Walnut, CA. The California Polytechnic Institute String Ensemble, conducted by Kay Pech, presented Journey of a Song April 5 at the Women's Studies Association Conference, Cal-Poly, Pomona, CA. PerformancesOn November 10, 2002, at the Apple Hill West Recital Hall in Brentwood, CA, the composer accompanied cellist Carter Dewberry in Night Thoughts; the composer also accompanied baritone Ralph Wells in Sense and Nonsense (based on texts from Alice in Wonderland). At the International Women's Day Celebration Concert, March 9, 2003, soprano SAI Deborah Kavasch, accompanied by the composer, presented Rachel, Crying, and Deborah Arose, All Saints' Episcopal Church, Pasadena, CA. Romantic Passacaglia on a Twelve Tone Theme received two performances by organist Frances Nobert: March 18, Cathedral Noon Organ Concert Series, Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels, Los Angeles, CA; and April 7, 50th Anniversary Celebration Concert, Trinity United Methodist Church, Seoul, Korea. Psalm 131 was performed April 10 by mezzo-soprano Ann Newton and pianist Barbara Rogers at Northwestern College, Saint Paul, MI. Rogers also performed Celebration, Sorrow, Strength with soprano Catherine Larsen, on June 9 at the Minnesota Music Teachers Convention, Saint Paul, MI. Further Information |
