Roque Cordero

Roque Cordero attended the XIII Forum of Composers from the Caribbean, October 13-16, 2002, in Panama City, Panama. During the Forum he delivered a lecture and heard performances of his Fanfarria Jubilosa by the National Symphony of Panama, conducted by Jorge Ledezma, as well as Sonatina R'tmica, for piano, Soliloquios No. 1 for flute, and Soliloquios No. 2, for alto saxophone. While in Panama, on October 20, he received the Excellence in the Arts Award for 2002 from the Contemporary Arts Museum of Panama City. On October 21, he received a Recognition Award from the Cultural Committee of the Union Club of Panama City.

Performances

Four Messages for Flutes and Piano were performed June 2, 2003, by the Cuauht moc Trejo, with Alfonso Pérez at the piano, in Guanajuato, Mexico. Violist Enrique Casal, with pianist Abdiel Lombana, presented Three Short Messages in concert on July 31, at Florida State University-Panama Campus, Balboa, Panama.
