Premieres

Fanfare for the Voice of A-M-E-R-I-C-A received its first performance from the University of Maryland Brass Ensemble at the VOA Auditorium 9/11 Memorial Concert 2003. The Amernet Quartet introduced String Quartet No. 5, on November 15, at the Cincinnati (OH) Contemporary Arts Center. The Long Island (NY) Philharmonic is scheduled to premiere Triple Overture, March 13-14, 2004.

Performances

On November 9, 2003, the Delaware Community Orchestra performed Dirge and Awakening. Violinist Rolf Schutte presented Fantasy for solo violin at the University of California at Davis on November 4, and again in Merkin Hall, New York, NY, on December 9. Symphony No. 1 was heard in a performance by the Ukrainian National Philharmonic on October 30.

Recordings

A CD of chamber and solo music featuring violinist Kurt Nikkanen with Cho-Liang Lin et al. will be released on Koch International in March 2004.
