The 2005 American Composers Updateas published in PAN PIPES, Volume 97, Number 2 Elizabeth LauerElizabeth Lauer won first prize in the vocal division of the National League of American Pen Women National Composition Competition with Fear No More, a work for mixed vocal sextet. Her December 2004 piano recital at Donnell Library Auditorium in New York, NY, included works by William Mayer and Alison Nowak, as well as Poulenc, Chopin, and Debussy. PerformancesAn Entertainment for piano trio (words and music by Lauer) was presented April 1, 2004, by the Washington Trio, with the composer serving as narrator, at Sumner Museum Concert Hall, Washington, DC. Le Crepuscule, a French concert rag, was performed on several programs by pianist Margaret Mills, including a May 14 Greenwich PenWomen Concert at the First Presbyterian Church, Greenwich, CT. The composer performed Transitions (the second movement of the Sonata for Piano) December 5 on a recital given at Donnell Library Auditorium, New York, NY. Further Information |
