Paul A. Siskind

Paul A. Siskind continues to serve on the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) Composition Committee. He is currently working on a new opera, The Sailor-boy and the Falcon, based on a story by Isak Dinesen.

Premieres

Because of Those Who Came Before was presented by the Unitarian-Universalist Choir during the fall of 2004 in Canton, NY. Tantarara was first heard in a November performance by the Crane Brass Ensemble, in Potsdam, NY.

Performances

Memoriale was presented in March 2004 by Randall Smith and Michael Bump in Costa Rica; the same work was later choreographed by Julia Gleich and performed in July by the Burklyn Ballet Theatre in Johnson VT. Thr(e.e. cummingS)ongs: Sweet, Fair, and Wise were heard in July at the NATS national convention in New Orleans LA, while Bright Morning Stars Are Rising was presented at the July GALA Choruses Festival in Montreal Canada. Madrigals was performed in October by the Ensemble Rhizome at the Ebruitez-vous Festival, in Rennes, France.
