Robert Xavier Rodriguez***

Premieres

Robert Xavier Rodriguez’s opera The Old Majestic received its premiere at the University of Texas, under the direction of David Neely, April 23-May 2, 2004. The Food of Love was first heard in a performance given by violinist Lewis Kaplan, pianist Peter Basquin, and narrator Barclay Palmer, on June 30 at the Bowdoin Summer Music Festival.

Performances

The Tempest was presented in concert by the Atlanta (GA) Symphony Youth Orchestra, in April 2004. The Milwaukee (WI) Symphony performed A Colorful Symphony on several concerts April 20-May 18. Monkey See, Monkey Do was heard October 1 at the University of Michigan. Frida Suite was performed October 23 by Fulcrum Point, directed by Stephen Burns. A piano version of Hot Buttered Rumba was heard October 31, at the Cultural Center of Chicago (IL).
