The 2006 American Composers Updateas published in PAN PIPES, Volume 98, Number 2 Diane Thome* Diane Thome’s latest commission is from The Esoterics for an a cappella work based on a Sanskrit text. The premiere and additional performances of All This took place in Seattle and Tacoma, WA, on April 9, 10, 16, and 17, 2005. Thome is the subject of an article in the New Grove’s Dictionary of Music and has been selected for inclusion in Who’s Who in Fine Arts Higher Education. She was an invited speaker at the Music Teachers National Association Convention held in Seattle, WA, in April 2005. Bright Air/Brilliant Fire for flute and computer-realized sound was presented December 1 by Lindsay Jones and the New Music Ensemble, University of Utah.
