The 2006 American Composers Updateas published in PAN PIPES, Volume 98, Number 2 Elizabeth Lauer Elizabeth Lauer has relocated from Wilton, CT, to Albuquerque, NM. On December 5, 2004, she gave a solo piano recital at the Donnell Library Center Auditorium in New York (NY). The program included the New York City premiere of Five Bagatelles by Alison Nowak, as well as works by William Mayer, and Lauer’s Transitions (the second movement from her Sonata for Piano). On March 13, 2005, prize-winning oboist Dwight Parry performed a House Concert for the Connecticut Alliance for Music, which included the composer’s arrangement for oboe and piano of Debussy’s four-hand piano work Pour invoquer Pan, dieu du vent d’été. At the last moment, the scheduled pianist was unable to appear on the program, so Lauer filled in by performing not only her own work, but by accompanying Parry in the Poulenc Sonata for oboe and piano as well. Premieres Two movements from Le Tombeau de Couperin (Ravel, arr.), as scored for oboe and piano, were premiered April 10 by Ralph Kirmser and Margaret Mills on the program Paris in April, Westport (CT) Library Concert Series. The Glorian Duo (harpist Wendy Kerner Lucas and flutist Donna Milanovisch) were joined by cellist Albert Parrini as they introduced Two Dances for Harp Trio on May 15, 2005, in Westport (CT) at a House Concert for the Connecticut Alliance for Music.
