Owen Reed Owen Reed received the Michigan State University Library Faculty Publishing Award for recording the works Awakening of the Ents, For the Unfortunate, and Missouri Shindig. Performances La Fiesta Mexicana received performances from the Youngstown State University Symphonic Wind Ensemble, conducted by Stephen Gage, on March 21, 2005, in Canfield, OH, and in Carnegie Hall, NY, on March 27; it was also heard in a July 2 performance by the World Youth Symphony, under the direction of John Whitwell, Interlochen, MI. Michael Kaufman led the Interlochen Symphonic Band in a performance of Michigan Morn on July 2, while Jane Church directed the same ensemble in The Heart of the Morn on July 24.
