The 2006 American Composers Updateas published in PAN PIPES, Volume 98, Number 2 Roger C. Vogel Premieres Excursions was introduced on March 22, 2005, by flutist Angela Jones-Reus and pianist Martha Thomas, University of Georgia. Declarations for four contrabasses was presented June 1 at the Bass Club of Georgia faculty recital, Shamrock Middle School, Atlanta, GA. Oboist Dwight Manning and pianist Liana Embovica-Rivkin gave the premiere of First Light October 24 at the University of Georgia. Performances Love Letters was performed by soprano Ellen Ritchey and pianist Ivan Frazier on February 25, 2005, at The College Music Society Southern Conference at the University of Southern Mississippi; and on April 2 at the American Music Festival, Athens, GA. Soprano Pamela Kurau and oboist Susan Laib performed Oboe on February 27, Mansfield (PA) University. Night Winds for woodwind sextet was presented April 29 by saxophonist Chris Costigan and the UGA Graduate Woodwind Quintet at the University of Georgia. Mythic Quest was heard in an October 3 performance by saxophonist Kenneth Fischer and flutist Angela Jones-Reus, University of Georgia Publications Excursions, flute and piano; First Light, oboe and piano; both by Howard J. Buss Publications. Concerto for Trumpet and Winds, reduction for trumpet and piano; Night Songs, violin and piano; Night Songs, flute and piano (transcription of violin/piano version); Declarations, contrabass quartet; all by Wilshire Music Company.
