The 2006 American Composers Updateas published in PAN PIPES, Volume 98, Number 2 Richard Wilson Richard Wilson continues in his role as Composer-in-Residence with the American Symphony Orchestra, Leon Botstein, conductor. He has been a member of the Program Committee of the Bard Music Festival since its inception 16 years ago. He holds the Mary Conover Mellon Chair in Music at Vassar College. Premieres Brash Attacks for trumpet and trombone was introduced January 26, 2005, by Sycil Mathai and Michael Boschen, Vassar College. Mezzo-soprano Mary Nessinger and pianist Richard Wilson presented Visits to St. Elizabeths on October 2, Merkin Concert Hall, New York, NY. Performances Transfigured Goat received performances on January 30, 2005, at Vassar College and February 6 at Merkin Concert Hall, New York, NY, from mezzo-soprano Nessinger, baritone Robert Osborne, clarinetist Allen Blustine, and pianist Wilson. Rolf Schulte presented Diablerie for solo violin on March 27 and July 3 at Vassar College and on October 2 at Merkin Concert Hall, New York, NY.
