& Hawkes, which has accepted ten recently revised
early works as well as a setting of
Pull My Daisy
(text by Allen Ginsberg) and the recently completed chamber
opera
Sorry Wrong Number (libretto by the composer,
based on the Lucille Fletcher play), now controls the
opera
Interludes and Arias from Cyrano (1990, libretto
by Sheldon Harnick, after Rostand). At a concert in Saranac
Lake, NY, Aug. 5, 1997, to benefit the Bartok Cabin, he
spoke about his year of study with Bela Bartok.
Performances
On the same program, soprano Angela Brown, accompanied
by Dixie Ross Neill, sang 23 of Beeson's songs.
