On Oct. 24-26, 1997, the Municipal Opera Company of Baltimore,
Inc. premiered
Blake, an opera in four acts (libretto
by Daniel Mayers) with a double cast featuring William
Clark, Robert King, Sabrina Clark, and Kelli Young; and
with Charlene Moore Cooper, conductor; Phadelma Ashley,
stage director; and Brian Bagley, choreographer. Commissioned
by the First Presbyterian Church of East Cleveland, OH
for its 190th anniversary,
Hymn to all Nations,
for SATB choir and keyboard, was heard first there, Nov.
23, 1997.
