Annual American Composers Update

M. William Karlins

SAI National Arts Associate M. William Karlins, on the faculty of Northwestern University in Evanston, IL, lives in Northbrook, IL.

Performances

This season, performances at Northwestern University include Quintet, with Paul Bro, alto saxophone, and the Lydian String Quartet (May 14, 1997); Children's Bedtime Songs, for SATB choir, with the University Singers (May 16, 1997); Symphony No. 1, with the Northwestern University Symphony Orchestra, Victor Yampolsky, conductor (Nov. 22, 1997); and Reflux, a concerto for amplified bass viol, solo wind ensemble, piano, and percussion, with Bertram Turetzky and the Northwestern University Wind Ensemble, led by Mallory Thompson (Mar. 14, 1998).
