Samuel Jones
Samuel Jones lives in the Seattle area, where he has has
been appointed Conductor in Residence of the Seattle Symphony
after becoming Professor Emeritus of Composition and Conducting
at the Rice University Shepherd School of Music, Houston,
TX, where he served as professor for 24 years and as founding
dean for six years.

On Mar. 21, 1997, Larry Rachleff led the Shepherd School
Symphony in Jones's
Symphony No. 3. Also in Houston,

Temptation of Jesus, with Ara Carapetyan, conductor,
June 8, 1997. Emmanuel Lopez and Denise Parr-Soanlin played
Sonata for Cello and Piano in Amarillo, TX, Sept.
19, 1997. The Carnegie-Mellon Symphony, conducted by the
composer, performed
In Retrospect, Nov. 21, 1997,
in Pittsburgh, PA. In Kent, WA, the Rainier Symphony,
