William Mac Davis
William Mac Davis holds the position of Associate Professor
of Music Theory and Composition at the Southwestern Baptist
Theological Seminary School of Church Music, Fort Worth,
TX. His
Fanfare on a French Carol won first prize
for band compositions in the 1997 Gerald Armstrong Award
Competition, sponsored by the Genevox Music Baptist Sunday
School Board's Church Music Department.

Christmas Rhapsody had its first performances
Dec. 6-13, 1997, with the Southcliff Baptist Church Orchestra,
conducted by the composer, in Fort Worth, TX.

In 1997
Fanfare on a French Carol was played by
the Ridgecrest (NC) Band, under Camp Kirkland (June 18);
and by the Glorieta (NM) Band, led by James Hansford.
Also in 1997
Rondo Concertante was heard in its
orchestral version with Donald Palmire, euphonium, and
the U. S. Army Orchestra, conducted by Tony W. Cason,
in Fort Myer, VA (Jan. 31); in its original version with
John Mueller, euphonium, and the U. S. Army Band, in Washington,
DC (Aug. 8); and in its piano version with Mueller, euphonium,
at the Verso il Millennio (July). 1997 performances of
Ceremonial Piece on Cwm Rhondda occurred with the
Oklahoma Baptist Symphony Brass, in Muskogee (Jan. 19);
and with the Gloriae Dei Brass Ensemble in Hilton Head,
SC (Feb. 8); St. Augustine, FL (Feb. 10); Palm Beach,
FL (Feb. 14); Sarasota, FL (Feb. 16); Melbourne, FL (Feb.
18); Chattanooga, TN (Feb. 21); Memphis, TN (Feb. 23);
Little Rock, AR (Feb. 25); Charleston, WV (Mar. 2); Winston-Salem,
NC (Mar. 4); and Baltimore, MD (Mar. 7).
