Annual American Composers Update
Andy J. Patterson
SAI National Arts Associate Andy J. Patterson, an Abilene,
TX resident, heads the Hardin-Simmons University School
of Music's Music Theory-Composition Department, in Abilene.
Premieres
Don Hanna led the Hardin-Simmons University Band in the
first performance of
Musical Sensors at the Texas
Musical Educators Association convention, Feb. 12, 1998,
in San Antonio, and then included the work on the band's
annual spring tour of Texas.
Performances
In Caceres, Spain, Dr. John Campbell played
Toccata
for Organ, Aug. 1998. Patterson's piano works
Intermezzo
and
Fantasie Impromptu were heard nine times in
England, Scotland, Ireland, and the Netherlands.
