George Perle
A special program dedicated to the music of George Perle
was broadcast by Radio Clasica, Buenos Aires, Feb. 13.
In its Feb. 1998 issue, the Argentinian journal
Clasica
published "De dónde viene la música? Una entrevista a
George Perle," by Martín Kutnowski. Perle's article on
Alban Berg's non-serial atonal music appeared in
The
Musical Times, summer 1998.
Performances
Pianist Horacio Guttierez presented
Phantasyplay
Feb. 2, 1998 in San Francisco. At the Arnold Schoenberg
Center in Vienna, Michael Boriskin played
Six New Etudes,
for piano, Mar. 19, 1998. Boriskin and the American Composers
Orchestra, under Paul Dunkel, performed
Concerto No.
1, for piano and orchestra, at New York City's Carnegie
Hall, Sept. 27, 1998.
Critical Moments, for flute,
clarinet, violin, cello, piano, and percussion, was conducted
by John Carewe, Oct. 30, 1998 in Manchester, England.
Under the baton of Hugh Keeland, the Northeastern Pennsylvania
Philharmonic included
Sinfonietta I on its Nov.
13-14 programs in Avoca, PA.
