Lawrence K. Moss
A Silver Spring, MD resident, Lawrence
K. Moss is Professor of Composition at the University
of Maryland School of Music, in College Park. On Apr.
23, 1998, he gave a lecture on his music at the China
Conservatory, in Beijing.
Premieres
Esther Lamneck premiered Lifelines
for Clarinet and Tape at New York (NY) University,
Apr. 14, 1998. A Hirschorn Museum program, in Washington,
DC, featured the first performance of Dau Ditties,
for clarinet, violin, percussion, and piano, with the
20th Century Consort, led by Christopher Kendall, Dec.
12, 1998.
Performances
At the V Festival Franco Donatoni, Harrie
Starreveld soloed in Into the Woods, for flute
and tape, Mar. 7, 1998 in Mexico City. Bruce Ronkin
and Juanita Tsu played Six Short Pieces for Saxophone
and Piano at a Northwestern University program,
Mar. 27, 1998. China, for tape, instruments,
and dancers, was presented at New York University, May
4, 1998. On May 31, 1998, Michael Magiera, David Crispin,
and April Stace performed Miracles for Tenor, Oboe,
and Harp at Philadelphia's Christ Lutheran Church.
Dan Silver gave a performance of Lifelines at
the Contemporary Music Forum, Dec. 3, 1998 in Washington,
DC.
