Mark Phillips

Premieres

On Mar. 3, 1998, the Ohio University Trombone Ensemble and Tony Baker introduced Legacy: In Memoriam Reginald Fink, for trombone ensemble and soloist.

Rex, for trombone and tape, had performances at an Ingesund University College of Music Visiting Artist Recital, Aruika, Sweden, with John Marcellus (May); at the Society of Composers, Inc. (SCI) National Conference, Bloomington, IN, with Andrew Glendening (Apr. 17); at the Seventh Annual Florida Electro-Acoustic Music Festival, Gainesville, FL, with Arthur Jennings (Apr. 9); at the International Trombone Association, Boulder, CO, with Nathaniel Brickens (Mar.); and at an Ohio University Winter Dance Concert, with Baker, choreographed by Marina Walchli (Mar. 5-7). Rain Dance, for flute and tape, was heard at an SAI American Musicale in Arlington, TX, Mar. 31, 1998. Rebecca Rischin played One of Kind, for solo clarinet, at a University of Nebraska Visiting Artist Recital, Feb. 8, 1998 in Lincoln.
