William Davis
William Davis, composer and bassoonist, works at the University
of Georgia School of Music, in Athens, GA. Through July
1998, he served as president of the National Association
of College Wind and Percussion Instructors.

Declaration for Soprano Saxophone
and Piano at Northwestern University (Mar. 28), followed
by performances in Athens, GA (May 25 and June 15).
Performances
Dwight Manning and the Virginia Intercollegiate Band played
Rhapsody for Oboe and Wind Ensemble at Norfolk
State University, Feb. 14, 1998, conducted by the composer.

Escapades for Organ at Georgia
State University, Feb. 20, 1998. In 1998, William and
Jolene Davis performed
Capriccio for Bassoon and Piano
at Arizona State University (June 4) and in Valdosta,
GA (Nov. 7).
Flourishes for Six Trumpets had 1998
performances with the University of Georgia Trumpet Ensemble,
Edward Sandor conducting, at the University of Kentucky
(May 28) and in Athens, GA (June 18). Also heard in Athens
in 1998 were
Come, Let Us Sing, for SATB choir
and organ, with the combined church choirs of Athens,
conducted by Brenda Poss (Feb. 15) and with the Emmanuel
Episcopal Church Choir, led by Corina (Feb. 8); and
